Labonte Upset with 13th Place Finish

Bobby Labonte finished 13th in the Coca-Cola 600 at Lowe's Motor Speedway but walked away upset about the performance. A top-15 finish used to be a victory of sorts for the race team.

“We were terrible all night long,” Labonte said after Sunday’s race. “We just weren’t good enough.”

Perhaps Bobby can take some solace in the fact that fellow Petty Enterprises driver Kyle Petty finished in third place Sunday night. It was Petty’s best finish since 1997 and the closest he has come to victory since winning a race in 1995.

“We didn’t change the world tonight. I guess third place was just the cherry on the sundae," Petty told the New York Times.
