Dick Miller's Influence on Bobby Labonte

Dick Miller, retired CEO of Goodmark Foods passed away earlier this week. Miller played a big role in the career of NASCAR Nextel Cup champion Bobby Labonte. Labonte raced with Goodmark Food brands including Penrose and Slim Jim in the early 1990’s.

Labonte won the 1991 Busch Series championship with Penrose and finished second in 1992 with Slim Jim. David Green won the 1994 Busch Series Championship driving for Bobby Labonte and Slim Jim.

Said Labonte, "Dick was a huge ambassador for me in the early stages of my Busch career. I’ll always feel blessed to have Dick be a part of my racing program. His support not only helped my career, but a lot of other drivers in the garage.

"I’m saddened to hear about his loss. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends."
