Good interview with #31 driver Jeff Burton over at Paddock Talk today. The Q&A touches on The Car of Tomorrow, recent Virginia Tech shootings, keeping your cool when racing and other interesting subjects.
Late in the interview Burton is asked about older drivers and whether they can keep up with the young 'uns. Burton has this to say about drivers like Mark Martin and Bobby Labonte:
I don't believe for a minute that Bobby Labonte can't go around this race track faster than me or Jimmie Johnson or anyone else... [B]ut you have to be in the situation that allows you to achieve. The driver takes responsibility for that too; I'm not saying that we don’t. The driver has a tremendous amount of input into what's going on. But if everything's not right I don't care if you're 25.
